DECEMBER is an excit-
ing month to visit Israel.
The eight days of Hanuka
are always a special time to
be in Israel — like all holi-
days, the entire country re-
sounds with the excitement
of celebrations; but particu-
larly on these eight days
and nights, the glow of the
Hanuka lights is seen
everywhere, as is felt the
particular air of this holi-
day's festivities.
This year, the holiday of
Christmas coincides with
Hanuka and Israel will be
filled with tourists from all
over the world. The Jewish
community shares this traf-
fic, as a few groups will be
visiting Israel during this
time plus many other
families and individuals.
This means a large contri-
bution to the Israel tourism
industry— a very beneficial
factor in Israel's economy.

A HIGHLY RECOM-
MENDED place to visit:
Shorek Stalactite Cave
(Ma'arat Neteefim), a cave
of stalactites and stalag-
mites discovered in 1968, 20
kilometers from Jerusalem.
Tiny lamps, placed at points
all over the cave, illuminate
the stalagmites and stalac-
tites and bring out their un-
believable beauty.
Although the cave may
not be large by interna-
tional standards, it is of spe-
cial interest by reason of the
tremendous variety and
quantity of the stalactites
and stalagmites it contains,
and of the unusual mineral
formations and is one of the
most beautiful caves as such
in the world. For organized
visits contact Egged Tours
or United Tours in
Jerusalem.

LUGGAGE
RE-
QUIREMENTS: Luggage

is no longer weighed when
flying directly to Israel, but
is measured. One is allowed
to check two _ bags whose
height, width and depth to-
gether cannot be more than
62" but both together can't
be more than 106". So, if you
have a bag of 62" your other
bag can't be more than 44".

WHY NOT JANUARY?

For those of you who won't
be visiting Israel in De-
cember, why not January?
Relief from Michigan's bliz-
zards is awaiting you in our
warm, hospitable country.
January is the "bargain"
month for Israel as it some-
times rains but don't be sur-
prised if the sun appears for
the majority of the time,
bringing mild weather —
perfect for sightseeing.
During our "low season"
the service everywhere is of
the highest standard and
you'll get the best accom-
modations for the lowest
prices.

Cites Jewish Tie
NEW YORK — Speaking

"as a black Jew myself and
having been one for 24
years," Sammy Davis, Jr.,
told Jet Magazine recently,
that the attempt by Nazis to
hold a rally in Skokie, Ill.,
was "horrible" and "despic-
able."
"But from every bad
comes good," Davis said.
"It's bringing the Jews and
blacks closer together."
The site that the Nazi
party members had chosen
for their rally, a suburb of
Chicago, has a large popula-
tion of survivors of the
Holocaust. Chicago's Jew-
ish and black leaders had
combined forces to protest
the planned Nazi action.

Hotels come and go. For many reasons. But Saxony guests keep coming
back. They come back for the beautiful accommodations and sporting
facilities. They come back for the superior service and superb dining.
But mostly they come back because "only the best will do."
