Dr. Keyserling is presi-
dent of the Conference on
Economic Progress, a non-
partisan, non-profit organi-
zation engaged in economic
research and education. He
served as chairman of the
Council of Economic Advis-
ers to the President during
the Truman Administra-
tion and in this capacity was
a de facto member of the
Cabinet and the National
Security Council.
Prior to joining the
Truman Administration,
he helped draft much of
the New Deal legislation
as legislative assistant to
Senator Robert F.
Wagner. He served as an
expert for the Senate
Committee on Banking
and Currency; deputy
administrator, and at
times acting adminis-
trator of the U.S. Housing
Authority and of the Fed-
eral Public Housing Ad-
ministration, and general
counsel of the National
Housing Agency, now the
Department of Housing
and Urban Affairs.
During 1975-1978, he has
served as one of the main
drafters of the Humphrey-
Hawkins "Full Employ-
ment and Balanced Growth
Act of 1978."
