Busloads of 250 to 275 mental patients from Lapeer, Ypsilanti, Plymouth, Clinton Valley and Wayne County General Hospital as well as former patients of the aforemen- tioned hospitals who are now residing in private homes and in nursing homes, attended the annual Hanuka celebration. Order of the Eastern Star Women provided transportation. Rabbi and Mrs. Solomon H. Gruskin have for many years been involved in this event. They know each of the patients, make contact with them, arrange for their attendance and greet them personally. Rabbi Gruskin is the chaplain for the facilities. Lunch was prepared by volunteers and musi- cal entertainment was provided by Cantor Hyman Adler of Cong. Bnai David and Cantor Larry Vieder of Adat Shalom Synagogue, ac- companied by Hal Gor- don at the piano and Max Sosin, master of cere- monies. Each guest re- ceived. gifts.
