The American Institute of
Architects selected the
Manufacturers Bank Re-
naissance Center office in-
teriors, designed by Louis
G. Redstone Associates,
Inc., as an example of "not-
able works of architecture
in the Detroit area."
Other Redstone projects
include the International
Terminal Building at the
Detroit Metropolitan Air-
port, 333 W. Fort St. build-
ing in downtown Detroit,
the new Jewish Community
Center, Cong. Beth Achim,
the Meyer Prentis
Building-Michigan Cancer
Foundation and a number of
hospitals and health care
facilities. In the commercial
field the firm designed the
Somerset Mall, Livonia and
Macomb Malls as well as a
number of regional shop-
ping centers in Michigan.
Another area in which
Redstone has distinguished
himself is as an author. He
has four books published
with one more in the forma-
tive stage, all related to ar-
chitecture. Redstone is ac-
tive in affairs of the profes-
sion spanning from local to
international involvement.
Last month, Redstone,
a fellow of the AIA, re-
ceived the gold medal of
the Michigan Society of
Architects at its conven-
tion in Kalamazoo. This is
the highest honor the soc-
iety bestows on its mem-
bers.
Redstone has a long
career of activities in- the
Jewish community. He is a
former president of Detroit
