MEALS ON WHEELS was begun by the Greater Detroit Section, National Council of Jewish Women, in co-operation with Jewish Family Service on July 31, 1973 . . . At that time, 21 clients, divided into four routes, were being served. Today, more than five years later, Meals On Wheels can boast a client population of 110 Jewish el- derly, divided into 10 routes . . . They are served two kosher meals per day, five days a week . . . These meals are cooked in the kitchen of the Federation Apartments on 10 Mile Rd. and are pac- kaged by volunteers . . . The meals are delivered by a corps of 100 dedicated men and women volunteers who work in pairs.
