In his address, Siegel commended the- Israeli and Egyptian leaders, Menahem Begin and Anwar Sadat, and President Jimmy Carter for their con- structive efforts for peace at the Camp David delibera- tions, expressing the hope that the tasks will reach ful- fillment at the peace- making now being con- ducted in Washington. Resolutions pledging aid to the Prisoners of Conscience in Russia, support for the Equal Rights Amendment, ORT as a major movement in Jewish life, condemna- tion of the rising tide of neo-Nazism were among decisive actions taken by the delegates. As a statement of policy and dedication to the ORT principles, the conference adopted this declaration: "Gathered together at our 12th National Board Con- ference, we extend our greetings to the American ORT Federation. We share the common bond of our work on behalf of the global ORT program. "We look forward to the excitement of our Cente- nary Year and to the next two years when, working individually and together, here in the United States, we shall strengthen our ties in a common cause, acceler- ate our membership and fund-raising activities and bring the message of ORT to every home in America.
