American Government Intelligence Agencies Now Admit
That They Utilized Nazi War Criminals After World War II

After 30 years of silence
and denials, the U.S. gov-
ernment has finally owned
up to the fact that American
intelligence agencies have
utilized alleged Nazi war
criminals. This admission,
however, barely scratches
- the surface of the intelli-
gence agencies' involve--

ment and the government's
concealment efforts, accord-
ing to author Charles R. Al-
len, Jr., noted expert on
Nazi war criminals in
- America.
In January 1977, Rep.
Joshua Eilberg (D-Pa.),
chairman of the House of
Representatives Subcom-
mittee on Immigration, re-

any evidence of deliberate
attempts on the part of U.S.
government agencies to
obstruct or quash investiga-
tions and 'prosecutions of
these individuals."
In compliance with this
request, on May 15, 1978,
the General Accounting
Office (GAO), the investiga-
tive arm of Congress, issued
a report entitled "Wide-
