Medal Salutes
Israel's 30th

We've added
another bus for our
Oak Park

EIN HOD, Israel — The
internationally-known Is-
raeli artist Moshe Castel
has commemorated the
30th anniversary of the
state of Israel with a new
original art medal released
here recently. It is the
fourth in the series of
"Great Israeli Artist" med-
als.
The 30th anniversary
medal bears an ancient
menora surrounded by a bas
relief of "30 years of Israel's
statehood" in the artist's
nwn handwriting, in He-
3w, Latin, Arabic and an-
...Lent Hebrew (Canaanite)
characters. The reverse
shows Castel's representa-
tion of two heroes from Is-
rael's history issuing a call
for peace. Surrounding the
relief is the word "peace" in
handwritten relief also in
Hebrew, Latin, Arabic and
ancient Hebrew.

Excommunication
for Jesus Groups

SILVER SPRING, Md. —
A group calling itself the
Supreme Rabbinic Court of
America will excommuni-
cate on Sunday Jewish
apostates in missionary
groups.
The candlelight excom-
munication ceremony will
be held in Philadelphia. The
"court" said Jewish apos-
tates are falsely stating that
Jews for Jesus and other
groups are a continuation of
Judaism.

Woman Jurist

AMSTERDAM (JTA) —
Ms. Anna Minkenhof, 68,
who was born of a promi-
nent Dutch Jewish family
but later converted to Pro-
testanism, has been ap-
pointed Vice President of
The Netherlands Supreme
Court on which she has
served as a justice since
1968.
She is the first, and to
date, the only woman serv-
ing on the high court. She is
not associated with any
Jewish causes.

New Aliya Head

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Yehuda Dominitz has been
named director of the
Jewish Agency's Aliya De-
partment, succeeding Gen.
(Ret.) Uzi Narkiss.
Dominitz, 52, is highly
regarded for his experience
and expertise in dealing
with aliya from "sensitive"
countries whose govern-
ments take a negative view
of Zionist endeavors.

Israel TV Halted
in Wage Dispute

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Israel television was
blacked out Monday night
as the result of a job action
by communication workers
who also threatened to dis-
rupt postal and telephone
services.

Umesorah, the national
society for Hebrew day
schools, will hold its annual
awards banquet in New
York Nov. 19.
