Detroit attorney Charles
Goldstein, lay leader of
Temple Bnai Israel in Mon-
roe, received a solicitation
from one of the Jewish
lawyers who defended the
Chicago Nazis in the Skokie
case for the American Civil
Liberties Union.
The solicitation for ACLU
membership became a cen-
tral part of Goldstein's Yom
Kippur sermon, in which he
stated:
"Our hero (the ACLU at-
torney) did not owe any
duty to the Nazis. They
were not his clients. He was,
he says, hostile to their
aims. His conduct was what

have criticized him for tel-
ling the Nazis to go chase
themselves and dig up the
money to hire their own
lawyers.

Sunday at the Jewish War
Veterans Memorial Home.
Breakfast will be served.
Candidates Doug Ross and
Maruks Simon, who are
seeking the 15th State Con-
gressional seat, will debate.
