Landing, Orchard Lake Rd.,
just south of 13 Mile, is an
example of how smilingly
pleasant one should be .. .
People like Pat are what
makes customers come
back.
Also at Eastman's Land-
ing, Tuesday through
Saturday, is perennial favo-
rite at the piano bar, Stenis
. . . around town a long time
. . . with a lot of personal fol-
lowing . . . and one of the
few gal pianists who can
still lend a bit of nostalgia
for people who remember
songs from yesteryears .. .
As usual, Stenis does a very
fine job on the piano bar at
Eastman's Landing.
THANKS . . . to Joanne
Siegla . . . for the menus
from Amish communities in
Ohio . . . most interesting.
YOU WON'T BELIEVE
the change when Duglass
opens its doors to the public,
Nov. 10, at the former site of
Mama Zelda's on Southfield
in the Farrell Plaza.
The prominent chef (Dug-
lass -Duglass) will make his
complete transformation
into an 85-seater, gourmet
French restaurant.
Imagine carpeting out-
side on the walkway . . . a
gorgeous blue icicle chan-
delier hanging from a mir-
rored ceiling lodged in the
center of another ceiling .. .
rounded walls . . . elegant
hall tiles . . . plush interior
carpeting . . . no booths —
all tables . . . 117 different
choices of wine . . . A pastry
table from where people
may select their dessert
will be at the front wall .. .
and the choice brought to
their table by the waitress.
It will be closed one
week in August as is done
in France, where Duglass
lived . . . He is half French
and was Chuck Muer's
chef when the Hotel

weeks is called a Petite
Augustine . . . two to four
weeks . . . he is a Grande
Augustine.
The first two nights are
closed to the public . . . Nov.
8 a charity affair and Nov. 9
for the press media.
Reservations for Nov. 10
are being taken . . . call

MORE LITTLE
CAESAR Pizza Stations
are opening now that the
pilot on Telegraph has pro-
ven such a big success with
its 15-second pizza . . . At
least nine are already on the
way . . . plus two in Tampa,
Fla . . . One of them will
open at Northland off

JENNIE KENT (Judge
George D. Kent's wife) is
working on forming a com-
mittee to have a full-scale,-
strictly kosher restaurant
in the Jewish community.
Such an eatery here could
make many people happy
but would need the support
. . . not only spiritual . . . but
in physical attendance .. .
of all who want a strictly
kosher restaurant but do
not patronize one . . . Three
such dining spots that we
know of failed for this rea-
son.
Volunteers interested in
the committee to form a
strictly kosher restaurant
can call Jennie at 273-1480
or send her a card to 18047
Prest, Detroit 48235.
WHY IS THE City of
Southfield bothering
Stephan Becharas at his
Gallery Restaurant on 10
Mile- east of Evergreen .. .
just because he cleaned up
the back area and graveled
the filth region, making it
decent looking and sanitary
. . . without a permit .. . If
anything, he should be
given a medal for doing this!
THERE'S DISCO danc-
ing every Sunday evening
at Ramada Inn of Southfield
on Telegraph . . . Have you
tried their Sunday brunch
yet?
FIFTH RESTAURANT
operation will open on
Southfield and 10 Mile Rd.
. . . Latest, ' Athenian
Cuisine, has sold and it will
become a new Senate Coney
