Center in Jerusalem.
The Detroit delegation to
the dedication includes Mrs.
Betty Barcus, Mrs. Herman
K. Cohen, Mr. and Mrs. Sol
Lessman, Mr. and Mrs. Irv-
ing Nusbaum, Mr. and Mrs.
Julius Ring and Mr. and
Mrs. Alex Roberg.
The new, $50 million
Shaare Zedek Medical Cen-
ter consists of 10 linked
buildings,' totaling 1.3 mil-
lion square feet of floor
space, on a 14 acre site. The
main hospital building is
the dominant structure
with 10 stories, 500 hospital
beds and dozens of medical

program before the dedica-
tion.
An evening inaugural
ceremony will be held at'the
Western Wall i-with the par-
ticipation of the chief rabbis
of Israel and the Army Rab-
binical Choir.
President Yitzhalc Navon
and Prime Minister
Menahem Begin will take
part in the festive opening
of the medical center and
the reception which follows
on Nov. 7.
A concert will be pre-
sented in honor of Shaare
Zedek by the Israel
Philharmonic Orchestra

emergency hospital, three
underground parking levels
and a three-unit outpatient
clinic which will treat 1,000
patients each day.,
The week-long dedication
activities will be held Nov.
5-12. Major donors will take

cations of Detroit projects.

Jennie Jones, past na-
tional chairman of the
United Jewish Appeal
Women's Division and
former president of the De-
troit Jewish Welfare Feder-
ation Women's Division,
will be guest speaker at the
division's opening meeting
on behalf of the 1979 Allied
Jewish Campaign - Israel
Emergency . Fund.
The noon luncheon meet-
ing, for $6,000 contributors,
will be held Tuesday in the
Bloomfield Hills home of
Shirley Schlafer.
Mrs. Jones has served on
Federation's board of gov-
ernors and on several
agency boards. She also has
been active with Hadassah,
United Foundation, Merrill
Palmer Institute, Michigan
State Council of the Arts
and other community,
organizations. She received
the Fred M. Butzel Memo-
rial Award, Federation's
highest honor, in 1968.
