Educational Review Needed

.

Editor, The Jewish News:
I would like to express my
appreciation for your edito-
rial in the Oct. 6 issue of The
Jewish News entitled
"Crisis in Education." I
think your call for review-
ing our Jewish educational
system is timely and of the
utmost importance.
I hope the response from
the appropriate people in
the community will be pos-
itive. I would also hope that
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion of Detroit re-examine
its priorities in regard to its
support of Jewish educa-
tion.
We do realize however

Center Lauded

Editor, The Jewish News:
Too often we are quick to
criticize someone else's fail-
ure and too reticent to
praise their achievements.
For this reason, we would
like to commend the Jewish
Community Center for the
exciting new Soccer Clinic
and League which just
began at the 10 Mile
branch.
Programming activities
for those of us who live in
the areas of Oak Park and
Southfield near the 10 Mile
branch should still be •an
important part of the
Jewish Community Cen-
ter's program. By setting up
the Soccer League, the Cen-
ter has demonstrated that it
can and will respond with
enthusiasm to all the com-
munity's needs.
For this they should be
commended and supported
so that these programs will
continue.

system is useless unless we
can convince parents to
send their children to these
institutions. Without their
support and interest, there
will eventually be no He-
brew schools in this city.
