Detroiter to Mark 100th Anna Gurvitch will celebrate her 100th birth- day Oct. 20. A resident of the Edgewa- ter Convalescent Center, Mrs. Gurvitch came to the U.S. in 1905 with her hus- band, Benjamin, now de- ceased, from the Ukraine. They were active in efforts on behalf of Workmen's Cir- cle for many years. Mrs. Gurvitch is the mother of the late Sophie Gurvitch, an artist; of Eve- lyn Gurvitch, a concert pianist and teacher; and of Rose Holzel. She has four grandchildren.
