with others reveals that Ed-
jo's serves excellent Pic-
kerel, also . . . and when it
has White Fish, the sea
darling tasty is hard to beat
. . . The_steaks, too.
Edjo's also takes its
place as one of the few
places that bring your
tartar sauce in a pottery
crock instead of those lit-
tle paper cups . . . We had
a very fine, most efficient
waitress, Vicki Steven-
son, who graciously
brought us cloth napkins
(another Edjo's goodie)
and a very fine tossed
salad.
We weren't there at the
time, but have heard about
the wonderful Happy Hour
moments at .4:30 p.m. and
10:30 p.m. . . . with plenty of
hors d'oeuvres served . . .
egg rolls, chicken wings,
etc.

fellow you like to see suc-
ceedbecause he works hard
at trying to satisfy people
. . . Having just ofie-half of
the dining crowd (few
women like to watch exotic

a traditional dinner to-
night, Sunday breakfast
and brunch and a kosher
banquet Saturday night.
DON PEDRO'S of
Mexico on W. Seven Mile,
just west of Middlebelt, has
already begun carving a
name as one of the aria's
finest authentic Mexican
restaurants.
Last time we were there
was prior to its opening, and
our fine waitress, Karen
Mitchell, served us at a
food-tasting session . . . The
food hasn't changed . . . it's
still very good . . . This time,
though, we had an expert
with us .. . son Scott, who
considerS Mexican food only
two ways . , . good or bad .. .
His impression was one of
slight shock . . . he didn't
think the former Cordoba
restaurant's new Mexican
cuisine was going to be so
finger-licking delish.
A basket of hot tortilla
chips are brought to the
table . . . (and we were lucky
to sit down in Karen's sta-
tion) . . . along with two.
sauces, hot and mild . . . We
both had the guacamole ap-
petizer (chopped avocados
blended with tomatoes, on-
ions, cilantro and Mexican
cheese and served with corn
chips) . . . Then a cup of the
best Chili this side of Texas
. . . Scott and I made a little
mistake . . . we should have
split on Platillo Mexican°,
. . . so much food . . . espe
cially after the chili . . . A
Platillo plate has a taco, an
enchilada, burrito, tamale
and tostada . . . filled with
beef, etc.. . . served with re-
fried beans and rice.
A strolling Mexican
guitarist sings romantic
ballads to compliment the
tastefully done surround-
ings.
