ming, Israeli dancing, cook-
outs and a Shabat service.
The members also took a
trip to the Meadow Brook
Music Festival, held a Gong
Show and participated in an
in-camp disco dance.
Children age 7-13 also
went to Camp Tamarack
where they participated in
similar camp activities in
addition to music therapy.
The children in the 7-13
group are members of the
Wonder Club which meets
Sundays at the main Cen-
ter. For information on pro-
grams for the retarded, call
the Center's group services
office.
Meanwhile, the Center
has become a place for
healing — at least for Es-
telle Seltzer.
Mrs. Seltzer, a victim of
multiple sclerosis (MS), has
become a disco dance in-
structor, not only to serve
her own therapeutic needs
but others who are ailing as
well.
Mrs. Seltzer teaches more
than 100 women per week
at the Center. Her half-hour
classes are held Monday,
Wednesday and Friday dur-
ing the day and Tuesday
nights. She said she would
like to teach others the
therapeutic benefits of disco
dancing, but she is unable to
since she doesn't drive.
Her students back her all
the way, however, and plan
their schedules around her
class.
TORONTO (JTA) — The
only Sephardic day school in
Toronto, Or Haemet, which
opened three years ago with
12 students, began the new
school year with 100 pupils
in kindergarten through
third grade.
