George came within 11 inches of the seventh cup.- WHILE ROSE AND LEW Kruger spent a month in Israel this summer, they attended Friday night serv- ices with her cousin Odon at the synagogue in Natanya ... When they returned, Lew told Ruth that he prayed extra hard for rain in Israel during their 100- degree stay . . . The follow- ing morning, it poured in Jerusalem and Natanya .. . A few days later, the rains came again . . . and even in Eilat it not only poured but there was a hail storm .. . the first ever recorded there . . . Prior to all this happen- ing, Lew dreamed it would rain for 30 days . . . Of course it didn't, but many people there were glad when Lew left . . . Who knows — he might have con- jured up a flood!
