JERUSALEM (JTA) —
The World Zionist Organ-
ization's information de-
partment is planning a
multi-media campaign to
modernize and improve the
dissemination of.the Zionist
message world-wide, de-
partment head Eli Eyal re-
ported at the weekly session
of the WZO Executive last
week.
According to Eyal, the
stress will be on presenting
Zionism as "the national
liberation movement of the
Jewish people" with the
basic theme that the Zionist
"solution" is still valid. A
special branch for the elec-
tronic media will be set up
and another branch will be
established to follow up the
feedback of public reaction
to the department's infor-
mation efforts, Eyal said.
A bratiCh already estab-
lished is training Foreign
Ministry officials and
others going abroad to func-
tion as Zionist information
emissaries, Eyal said. But
he emphasized that an
understanding has been
reached between the WZO
and the Foreign Ministry to
coordinate their activities.

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
The National Council for
Research and Development
is investigating a process
that will use solar energy to
convert sewage into high
quality water that can be
used for irrigation purposes.
According to Dr. H.
Grechter, laboratory man-
ager at the Health Ministry,
the process is the first of its
kind initiated anywhere in
the world and is faster and
more reliable than other
purification Processes cur-
rently in use.
Meanwhile, the Hebrew
University is testing a new
method to increase the con-
version capacity of solar
energy cells. It utilizes a
glass plate treated with in-
organic ions as a solar con-
centrator and heat dis-
penser. The treatment of
the glass is said to prevent
the waste of energy not ab-
sorbed by the cell and con-
centrates the solar heat in a
smaller area.

The method has been pro-
ven efficient theoretically
but further study and de-
velopment will be required
before it is tested. The spe-
cially treated glass is ex-
pected to be only slightly
more expensive than nor-
mal glass plates used in
solar energy cells.

Arts Festival Set

St. Owens of Birmingham
will open its Festival of the

ception 7 p.m. Sept. 22 at
the church center, 6869
Franklin.
There is an admission fee
for the reception, while ad-
mission to the festival is
free of charge. Hours are
7-11 p.m. Sept. 22, 10 a.m.-7
p.m. Sept. 23 and 11 a.m.-6
p.m. Sept. 24.
