A Revelation
Editor, The Jewish News:
As reported in The Jewish
News of Sept. 8, President
Carter in public remarks,
made sometime ago, in ex-
pressing admiration for
Menahem Begin and his
religious principles, stated
what would seem to be an
agreeable and indulgent
disclosure, that Begin wor-
< ships the same deity as he,
President Carter and those
whom he was addressing,
do.
Without minimizing the
kindness of this approval, it
reminds of a Russian
moujik, who returning from
church and joining his eager
cronies, communicated to
them the startling informa-
tion he had heard from the
galekh in church that the
Jews, too, have the Ten
Commandments.
It is only fair to point out
that doubtless President
Carter is aware that thus
• the monotheistic ideal, pre-
dated his ascending to the
*
presidency, even the dis-
covery of America, even the
time when his ancestors
probably had not the fog-
giest notion of this ideal,
while the ancestors of
Menahem Begin already
adored the One and Only
Deity. .

Mexico has so many perfect places. Our cities are alive with
color and music, rich with museums and historical sites. Our
pre-Columbian ruins are breathtaking. Noble. And our
resorts — well, imagine a tropical paradise ... then make the
sand even whiter, the water bluer, and the fl o wers more
fragrant — and you've got the idea. Mexico has something to
delight everyone. Magnifi«it c uisine from the world over.
Crafts that are sensitive, honest, expressive.
