Mrs. Wijsmuller, Saved JeWish Kids in Holocaust AMSTERDAM (JTA) — Mrs. Geertruida Wijsmul- ler, who helped rescue Jewish refugees, mainly children, before and during World War II, died Aug. 30 at age 82. Beginning in November 1938, Mrs. Wijsmuller, who was not Jewish, worked closely with the Dutch Jewish Committee for the assistance of Jewish refu- gees.
