WANT A SKIMPY SANDWICH?

Danny Raskin's

DON'T COME TO

JAKKS

OLD TIME DELI

LISTENING
POST

A LOT OF ADULTS can
take lessons in fund-raising
from two -11-year-old
community-ites . . . cousins
Eric Cohen, son of Margo
and Maurice Cohen, and
David Nickamin, son of
Bunny and Alan Nickamin
. . . The youngsters made
mandelbread and went door
to door with . offerings to
neighbors from a tray .. .
and telling of their visit .. .
to collect for Muscular Dys-
trophy . . . The mandel-
bread was a sensation .. .
but Eric and David were
even more as they collected
over $100 to turn over to
Jerry Lewis.
A BIG BEE attended the
outdoor wedding of Barbara
Silverman and Michael
Gordon . . . but it couldn't
scare the people from enjoy-
ing such beautiful procced-
ings . . . or from staying for
the lot-of-fun reception.
Predicted rain stayed
away and it was a couldn't-
ask:for-anything-better .
kind of day and evening .. .
Catering was by Sperber
Kosher Catering . . . and
everything very delicious
. . . Father of the bride, Sid-
ney Silverman, is a former
president at Cong. Beth
Achim, where Marika and
Henry Sperber home-base
from . . . Ceremony was in
the lavish setting of ravines
with large wooded area as
background . . . 155 were at
the wedding and another
100 or more at the recep-
tion.
Was a three-fold celebra-
tion . . . also Barbara's_
birth _ day the next day .. .
and Michael's birth date a
-clay after hers.
Hupa served a dual
purpose ... for the cere-
mony_ and as a covering
over the outdoor bar ...
Mother of the bride, Lit
Silverman, setting the
stage for dancing without
shoes to Larry Freed-
man's ork ... Ida Rosen-
berg getting the back of
her new dress soiled with
grease ... and hubby Iry
saying, "So what? Just be
happy" ... Norm Silets
looking good... With all
the Infants Service
Group gals, naturally
Lairy's band played the
group's theme song, "Al-
ley Cat" ... Before pass-
ing out, Al Biegler shak-
ing his head and telling of
his 24 years a jeweler on
Woodward ... Ruth
Biegler searching all over
for a toothpick ... Iry to
the rescue ... Barbara's
childhood girlfriend; Dr.
Lauri Adelson, flying in
from Vanderbilt U. -
Phil and Anita Gold lov-
ing to dance . . . Barbara
and Sonny Ginsburg a
happy couple . . . 21/2-year-
old Rachel Lederer, daugh-
ter of Marcy and Jerry Le-
derer, the pretty oohs and
ahs flowergirl loving to
dance and getting plenty of
partners . . . Morley Sil-

verman singing "Blue
Skies" and "Sunny Side Of
The Street" . . . Wife Irene is
president of volunteer
workers at Providence Hos
pital . . . Wonderful to see
such closeness among
brothers as Allan, Sid and
Morley . . . Eleanor Rise- -
man "fired" as our reporter
but still one of the nicest
gals we know . . . Sonya Sil-
van like a mother hen,
gathering all her
grandchildren . . . Sylvia
and Sam Rosenberg danc-
ing up a storm . . . First you
saw them, then you didn't
. . . Annette and Bill Liber-
son.
Jenny and Sam Kopel-
man married 43 years and
he is the envy of all men .. .
She has always been aller-
gic to cologne, furs and
jewelry . . . Thanks to Lou
Malkin for the coffee
Laurie Silverman, 12-
year-old daughter of Mary
and Allan Silverman, beat-
ing all comers at pocket bil-
liards . Jennie Stewart
telling about hubby Meyer's
hole-in-one . . . Bridal
•couple Barbara and Mike
getting into their regular
clothes and being guests at
their own party , .. a truly
wonderful one.
ALTHOUGH THEY
live in Maryland with
Great-Great-Grandmother
Anne Sherbow, Israeli born
11-year-olds Michal (Tif-
fany) Levi and Ayala
(Kitty) Sherbow were ex-
cited about coining to a big
city like Detroit . . . They
were here with Anne, vis-
itng great aunt and great
uncle Mert and Bud Sher-
bow . . . Bud took them to
places even many native
Detroiters have never been
. . . the Detroit Zoo and
Greenfield Village.
SOME 300 SHOWED up

, prior to their going back to
Florida . . .---Little Evan, son
of Sandy and Mark Weiss,
can't reach the pedals yet,
and asked if he'll ride- the
bicycle said sure when he is
eight or nine -years old .. .
You couldn't buy it from
him for all the money in the
world . . . or all the candy
. . . He won't even sell one
speed!
CONGRATS TO ...
Marilyn and Sid Frumkin
. . . on their 30th wedding
anniversary.
SID HUDSON was to be
here Sept. 22 from Las
Vegas for Joe Louis Arena

being too sick to come has
also cancelled Sid's trip .. .
Belated congrats to our
Vegas friend on his recent
birthday.
