Marie, Marquette, Munising, Ishpeming, Houghton, Hancock and other com- munities. In Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., they located one Jewish family, while in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, there was a synagogue in a community of 20 Jewish families. The experiences of the emissaries included meet- ing many who have inter- married. They maintain that the rate of intermar- rage in the Upper Peninsula is about 90 percent.
