He was_51. A graduate of Wayne State University's medical school, Dr. Brown held sev- eral teaching positions there, and at the time of his death was a clinical associ- ate professor. He was certified by the American Board of Path- ology and was a diplomate in pathologic anatomy and clinical pathology. Dr. Brown had pub- lished extensively and was the winner of many awards and honors. Maariv Editor Dissentshik Dies, Led Israeli Journalists TEL AVIV (JTA) — Aryeh Dissentshik, former editor of Maariv and one of the leaders of journalism in Israel since the 1930s died Aug. 14 at age 70. Known as "Chik" to his friends, Mr. Dissentshik was editor of Maariv since the death of Dr. Azriel Car- lebach, with whom he founded the evening news- paper in 1956, until his re- tirement in 1974. He also headed Modfun Co., the pa- rent company of Maariv and publisher of the women's magazine At. Born in Riga, Dec. 13, 1907, Mr. Dissentshik was interested in journalism even in his youth and be- came associated with Zeev Jabotirsky, whom he served as secretary. He was one of the founders with Mr. Jabotinsky of the Betat movement. Arriving in Palestine in 1934, he joined the stiFff of the General Zionist aaily Haboker where he later became news editor. When Carlebach founded Maariv he made Mr. Dis- sentshik deputy editor and "Chik" ran the staff while Carlebach concen- trated on editorials and his famous Friday col- umn.
