JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Shmuel Ussishkin, a
member of the Jewish Na-
tional Fund Directorate,
died Aug. 3 at age 79.
He was the son of
Menahem Ussishkin, a
founder of the Russian
Zionist movement and pres-
ident of the JNF in the
1920s.
Shmuel Ussishkin was a
member of the Hachsharat
Hayishuv Directorate, the
World Zionist Organization
Directorate and the Zionist
Organization Directorate
and the Zionist Congress
Court, in addition to the
JNF. He immigrated to
Palestine in 1919 after
studying law at Odessa and
Cambridge.
He was the author of a
number of legal books and
articles and lectured at the
Tel Aviv University School
of Law and -Economics be-
fore the establishment of
the state of Israel.

Gary A. Klinsky, owner of
a Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., gift
shop, died Aug. 15 at age 29.
Mr. Klinsky earned a BA
degree from Michigan State
University and his master's
degree in communication
and his law degree from the
University of Michigan.
At U-M, Mr. Klinsky won
awards as director of the
Ann Arbor Civic Theater
and was an actor and direc-
tor for the U-M Repertory
Players.
He leaves his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. William (Con-
stance) Klinsky of Birmin-
gham; and two brothers,

Louis W. Enfield, an at-
torney for 40 years with of-
fices in the Guardian Build-
ing, died Aug. 12 at age 70.
A native Detroiter, Mr.
Enfield was the former
editor of the Jewish Chroni-
cle and the Legal Chronicle
and was a contributing wri-
ter for the Detroit
magazine, the magazine of
the Detroit Chamber of
Commerce. He was
graduated in 1934 from the
Wayne State University
Law School.
Mr. Enfield leaves his
wife, Manya; a son, Daniel;
a daughter, Mrs. Melvin
(Betty Ruth) Koninsky of
New York; four brothers,
Albert Wise, Sam Warren,
Irving West and David
Weisenfeld; three sisters,
Mrs. Ed (Gitta) Henshel,
Dorothy Weisenfield and
Sue Weisenfield; and nine
grandchildren.
BUENOS AIRES (JTA)
— Gregorio Verbitsky, a
co-founder and assistant
editor of the centrist daily,
Noticias Graficas, died re-
cently at age 68.
From 1948 to 1964 he
served as a press official at
the Israel Embassy here.
After two years abroad he
worked, until his retire-
ment in 1970, as the co-
editor of the conservative
weekly, Analysis.
Mr. Verbitsky wrote
booklets about Jewish col-
onization activities in the
province of Buenos Aires
and was the author of a
pamphlet, "Israel as a
Spiritual Undertaking."
His brother, Bernardo Ver-
bitsky, is one of Argentina's
leading fiction writers.
