keyboard control fingers
that Howard possesses is

BUDDY'S PIZZA on W.
McNichols at Conant, has
five main cooks in the
kitchen (all women) averag-
ing a total of 75 years ser-
vice at the spot where
square pizza was born 33
years ago . . . Oldest kitchen
gal in service at Buddy's is
its original salad-maker,
Connie Piccinato, who was
there when that first square
pizza was served ... All
have been at Buddy's
throughout the improve-
ment in pizza making.
It it interesting to note
that other pizza spots who
clamor for publicity, are in
essence only offshoot copies
of Buddy's, which, as the
original, goes about its bus-
iness of putting out high-
quality pizza in a profes-
sional way without the fan-
fare that people can't eat.
It's still excellent — and
why not with the wealth of
old-time experience still in
the kitchen ... Great an-
tipasto salad, too.

A recent visit to Bud-
dy's was further en-
hanced by the fine effi-
cient service of our wait-
ress, Paula Kuhne.

New spot opening in
about a week by Buddy's is
on 12 Mile just west of
Hayes ... mostly a carry-
out with 10 seats ... Other
locations are being looked
at.
Buddy's annual Bocci
Ball Tourney to find the
best bocci ball player
around is set for pre-
liminaries on Aug. 15, 16
and 17 ... and the finals on
Aug. 20, singles and doubles
.. Everyone is invited ...

longer ... saying nothing
about the excellent free-
standing building and park-
ing facilities ... A lot of
rumors abound about this
person or those people tak-
ing over . . . but as yet, no-
