Rochester Judge
Seeks Ct. Seat
District Judge Mildred A.
Vlaich of Rochester is a
candidate for election to the
Oakland County Circuit
Court bench. She was
elected to the 52nd-3rd Dis-
trict Court in 1974.
Judge Vlaich began her
public career in 1948 as an
assistant prosecutor. She
served as a member of the
County Board of Super-
visors and was a practicing
trial attorney for more than
20 years. She formerly was
a director with the Child
Guidance Clinic, mediator
for Circuit Court, and arbit-
rator for Michigan State
Bar Grievance Committee.

College Talk
Dr. Jay Stern, superin-
tendent of the United Heb-
rew Schools, will address
the issue "Jews and Christ-
ians: Can We Collaborate in
Ministry?" 7:30 p.m. Wed-
nesday at Marygrove Col-
lege.
The lecture concludes a
series being offered in con-
junction with the college's
summer graduate program
in religious studies in which
Dr. Stern is currently teach-
ing the course "Introduction
to the Old Testament."
Following the lecture
there will be a dialogue with
Msgr. Clement Kern,
former pastor of Holy Trin-
ity, and George Alcser, pro-
fessor of philosophy and
theology in the Marygrove
Religious Studies Depart-
ment.
Admission is nominal,
