NEW YORK — A special
Masonic pilgrimage to the
Holy Land, the source of
Freemasonry, will take
place Nov. 19-30, on the oc-
casion of the Silver Jubilee
of the erection of the Grand
Lodge of Ancient, Free and
Accepted Masons of the
state of Israel.

One of the pilgrimage's
highlights will be a special
visit to Jerusalem's King
Solomon's Quarries,
Freemasonry's only physi-
cal landmark. It was here
that the stones for the Tem-
ple were quarried — and
from which the use of the
word "mason" emanates. It
is the Temple of Solomon
which serves as the basis for
the symbolism of
Freemasonry.
