THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

Danny Raskin's

LISTENING
IN oho
POST

TOM HELLER, son of
Fannie and Milt Heller,
former Detroiters now liv-
ing in Lauderhill, Fla., has
a very unique way of raising
money to put needy kids
through summer camp ...
He lets you take a 12-pound
sledge hammer and whack
away at a couple of old cars
on his Fenkell Ave. Sunrise
Auto Sales lot ... 25 cents
for three swings ... $1 for
an extra swipe and $5 for
special requests like knock-
ing off that special part you
may have had so much
trouble with ... Tom has al-
ready done oodles of live
radio shows and made about
nine out-of-town papers via
United Press International
... plus the front cover of a
national motor magazine.
Tom says most of the
smashers are housewives
and young women who can
lift the hammer), letting out
their frustrations ... Men
laugh with glee as they
smash the windshields ...
The more punishment the
cars get, the more needy
kids go to summer camp .. .
thanks to Tom Heller.

Sarah Pitt the only one to
have hers done on the left
side .. .
Leo Samson winning
grand prize of a $200 man's

Cassel almost making the
evening a lot warmer by
dropping a lit cigarette
among a stack of chairs ...
