HAVE YOU EVER
eaten food from Bangkok?
. . . The new Siamese
Twins restaurant on Op-
dyke, corner South Blvd. lin
the Fox Hills Shopping
Center) has cooks who have
been preparing the tasty
food for many years . all
freshly made . . Bangkok
dishes are said to be true au-
thentic oriental . .
Siamese Twins is owned
by Traipitra Sarnsethsiri,
whose husband, Dr.
Phairatch Sarnsethsiri, is a
well-known orthopedic sur-
geon in the Northland Med-
ical Building.
THE ALL-NEW 1978
version of "This Was Bur-
lesque" opens at the Bir-
mingham Theater, Aug.
7-12 . . . featuring Ann
Corio and comedian Jerry
Lester.
Ray Bolger, the delightful
song and dance man from
"Where's Charley?" and
"April In Paris" will per-
form on stage Aug. 18 and
19.
HAD A RUGGED ex-
perience at a local deli re-
cently . . . Couldn't get a
Western omlette made
properly . . . fellow in the
kitchen very obviously
didn't know how to make
one .. . Finally, when the
waitress brought us out
another, we decided nothing
could make him do any bet-
ter so were going to eat it
. . . However, the erring
quickness of a busboy made
sure we didn't, as he took it
away before we could dig in
. . Perhaps the young
man is from England,
where, if you put your knife
and fork down it means you
are finished.
From the looks of that
second Western omlette,
perhaps he did us a favor
. . . Shame that so many

ANOTHER GOOD
Nannette
Roquette, evening lass at
Carl's Chop House on Grand
River . . . Been there three
years after 17 years in Flint,
and a popular personality-
ite.
FAVORITE
SAND-
WICH of many at the old
waitress is
Darbys, Seven Mile and
Wyoming, was imported
sardines, cream cheese,
onion and tomato on pum-
pernickel break . . . First
day the new Darbys was
open on Pontiac Trail, south
of 15 Mile, we had to have
one again . . . This was a
lot bigger — too much . .
very tasty but slightly dif-
ficult to eat . . . Also a bowl
of mushroom barley soup
. After all, what would
the name Darbys be without
a good bowl of mushroom
barley soup?
IF YOU DON'T SEE it
on the menu at Bonaven-
ture, Big Beaver (16 Mile)
next to Top of Troy Bldg.,
makes no difference .
Your desire will be made for
you . . . Everything is
"custom-made" to order and
people have had dishes they
never thought could be av-
ailable anywhere except
where it was originally got-
ten . . . Could probably be
done . . but quite hard to
stump Bonaventure chefs.
MARY GERDS does her
job very well as the smiling
day waitress at Original
Pancake House, 10 Mile
east of Evergreen.
NEW BURGER KING
at 12 Mile and Northwest-
ern lets folks relax and dine
in a decor unlike any other
. . . It was designed by The
Development Group,
largest BK franchise in
Metropolitan Detroit . . .
and includes etched glass
dividers in the dining area
plus a mirrored wall with
the Burger King logo . .
Plantings, comfortable sea-
ting and background music
all add to a relaxing atmos-
phere.
The Southfield Burger
King has been open since
Dec. 24, and has been
selected by the U.S. Navy as
the lunching facility every
Sunday for Navy personnel
at the reserve base on 11
Mile.
An educational film enti-
tled "Snuffy Fire Preven-
tion Program" is available
to schools and community
groups . . . Premiums for
the children are distributed,
including frisbees, gliders,
flying crowns, baseball
cards, etc. . . . The pre-,
miums are changed every
two weeks.
Jesse Lollo, manager at
the Burger King at 12 Mile
and Northwestern, has an
education that can always
keep him a step or more
ahead of his employees . . .
having studied law, real es-
tate and accounting in
school .. . He's tops in re-
staurant know-how also.
