Rabbi Joseph Narot of
Temple Israel of Greater
Miami has linked the past
with the present in his
many sermons which have
attracted large congrega-
tions. His compiled sermons
have been published by Ros-
trum Books of Miami and
the voluminous work of 650
pages is receiving wide

acclaim.

Noteworthy is the preface

You don't have to know your meats and poultry
when you buy kosher, because not only do you
receive the finest, but that very importatn personal
touch. All our meats and poultry are triple in-
spected to assure you, the public, that only when
buying kosher do you receive the purest.

by Dr. Solomon B. Freehof
who emphasizes the need
for a deepening of Jewish
knowledge "so as to better
cope with our needs." He
honors Dr. Narot as a man
who is achieving this goal.
Dr. Narot's sermons are
included in 11 sections, cov-
ering a vast field, coping
with national and world
problems, emphasizing the
Jewish concerns.

He deals, of course,
with Judaism, the obser-
vances, the festivals. He
defines Reform Judaism,
Judaism in history and
explains the relation-
ships between Judaism
and Christianity.

NEW YORK — The
American Jewish Congress,
as a result of contacts made
through its monitoring of
the cults, has received a
promise from the Unifica-
tion Church that it will "re-
spond to any inquiries" from
parents concerning children
in the movement.-
The assurances came in a
letter from Mose Durst, di-
rector of the church's
California office, following
a meeting with Nathan Z.
Dershowitz, director of the
American Jewish Congress
Commission on Law, Social
Action and Urban Affairs.
Durst said that he would fol-
low up on inquiries that re-
late to California and that
Neil Salonen, president of
the Unification Church,
would handle inquiries on a
national level.
Parents are advised to di-
rect inquiries to Julius
Schatz at the American
Jewish Congress, 15 E. 84th
St., New York 10028.
