The Meyer and Anna Prentis Award has been presented to Dr. Otto Muhlbock of the Nether- lands Cancer Institute by Marvin Frenkel, a trustee of the Prentis Foundation and a trustee of the Michigan Cancer Foundation, sponsor of the award. The Prentis Foundation's financial support helped make possible the Meyer L. Prentis Cancer Center, the Michigan Cancer Founda- tion's headquarters in De- troit. Dr. Muhlbock, one of 200 scientists from 18 countries who attended the 11th In- ternational Mammary Cancer Meeting in Detroit, was honored "for distin- guished career achieve- ments in cancer research." Dr. Michael J. Bren- nan, president and medi- cal director of the Michi- gan Cancer Foundation, said of Dr. Muhlbock, "In the devastation that fol- lowed World War II, this man began his cancer re- search in the shattered city of Amsterdam and was largely responsible for its revitalization as one of the leading cancer centers in Europe." Also honored was Dr. Dan Moore of the Hahnemann Medical College of Philadelphia, whc received the Eleanor Warren Award for outstanding contribu- tions to breast cancer re- search.
