Walus was strip- ped of his citizenship in May following a ruling that he lied about his Nazi past in order to enter the U.S. and to become a citizen. Walus now faces deportation hear- ings. Witnesses testified that he was a Gestapo agent who murdered Polish Jews. Last Sunday, Chicago police prevented many anti-Nazi demonstrators from entering Marquette Park during a Nazi rally. Approximately 20 Nazis rallied for 20 minutes be- hind massive police protec- tion. The park is in a ra- cially troubled neighbor- hood of Chicago. The store was boarded up and appeared to be vacant, in compliance with the end of the two-month period for which the Nazis had paid rent. Paul Boatin, head of the Labor-Community-Interfaith Council Against the Nazis, said the Detroit Nazis had until this coming Monday to vacate the premisis, but ac- tually vacated the building weeks ago. He said they left up their signs and insignia. Earlier, Detroit police discovered a bomb in the garage of Nazi leader Bill Russell's west side home. Police destroyed the explo- sive.
