JERUSALEM (JTA) — Several thousand members of the Peace Now movement formed a circle around the prime minister's office car- rying posters demanding that Premier Menahem Begin "either compromise or resign." The demonstration ended with a rally outside the Knesset building where a petition was read support- ing the aims of the Peace Now movement. The peti- tion, bearing 130,000 signa- tures, will be sent to Begin. Meanwhile, another peace demonstrator, Abie Nathan, ended his hunger strike 46 days after he began it, the longest hunger strike on record in Israel.
