Seminar Topic

Eichner will conduct a
seminar entitled, "Values
Clarification for Jewish
Women," 7:30 p.m. Mon-
days, beginning this Mon-
day, in her Southfield home,
20175 Roseland.
The eight,week series
will focus on issues of im-
portance to women. There is
a fee, and the seminar is li-
mited to 16 women.

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Several thousand members
of the Peace Now movement
formed a circle around the
prime minister's office car-
rying posters demanding
that Premier Menahem
Begin "either compromise
or resign."
The demonstration ended
with a rally outside the
Knesset building where a
petition was read support-
ing the aims of the Peace
Now movement. The peti-
tion, bearing 130,000 signa-
tures, will be sent to Begin.
Meanwhile, another
peace demonstrator, Abie
Nathan, ended his hunger
strike 46 days after he
began it, the longest hunger
strike on record in Israel.
He did so, he said, in com-
pliance with an appeal by
the Knesset.

A heavy Dutch oven that
closes tightly is an impor-
tant pot to have. Stews are
easy to make in this type of
pot.

2 lbs. beef, cut in 2-inch cubes
seasoning salt
2 onions, cut in eighths
V2 lb. mushrooms
6 carrots, cut in half
vegetable oil
3. lb. wide noodles, cooked
parsley
Sprinkle meat with season-
ing salt. Brown in oil. Add on-
ions and mushrooms and
brown until onions are golden.
Add carrots. Cover tightly and
cook over a very low heat until
meat is tender. if necessary,
add a little water. Serve over
cooked noodles and garnish
with fresh parsley. -

British Tourism
to Israel Rises

LONDON (JTA) — El Al,
the Israeli national airline,
carried 21 percent more
passengers to Israel from
Britain in the first five
months of this year,' com-
pared to the same period
last year.
Advance bookings for the
summer are 23 percent up
on last year, and additional
flights have been arranged
for July and August in addi-
tion to the 14 weekly regu-
lar scheduled flights from
London to Tel Aviv.

The Israeli cash shower will
be discussed. Guests are in- .
vited, and refreshments will
be served. Recently instal-
led officers are: Bertha
Lupovitch, president; Re-
gina Weisman, executive
vice president; Edith
Gladstone and Esther Ber-
