District Judge of the 46th
Judicial District, Oakland
County, announces that he
will seek re-election to a
six-year term in the prim-
ary election Aug. 8.

Judge Clarkson was a
practicing attorney for 23
years before ascending the
bench in January 1969. He
served in the Michigan
State House of Representa-
tives from 1959 to 1960 and
served as mayor of the city
of Southfield for four terms,
from 1961 to 1969.

Judge Clarkson also is a

of governors for a three
year-term; serves on the
board of directors of the
Kingswood Hospital; and is
a member of the Michigan
District Judges' Associa-

sociation and the Southfield

to CJF Position

Mandell L. Berman,
chairman of the executive
committee of the board of
governors of the Detroit
Jewish Welfare Federation,
has been appointed chair-
man of the long-range plan-
ning committee of the
Council of Jewish Federa-
tions.
Berman is past chairman
of the governing council of
the -American Association
for Jewish Education.
