Kaufman has announced his candidacy for judge of the Oakland County Circuit Court. Kaufman was graduated from Wayne State Univer- sity's law school in 1953. He was appointed an associate member of the Interna- tional Association of Acci- dent Boards and Commis- sions and to the Lawyer to Lawyer Consultation panel. An arbitrator of the American Arbitration Association and a former assistant judge advocate general, Kaufman also is a charter member of the litigation section of the American Bar Associa- tion. The students, who met with shlilthim Natan Bac- hrach and Joshua Tabak, for orientation last week, will participate in ar- cheological digs, tours, Ul- panim and will work at kibutzim and do volunteer work in addition to studying at Israeli universities. Some of the students will stay in Israel for six weeks, while four of the students will participate in the year-long Sherut La'Am program. A reunion is planned for the end of the summer to perpetuate the ties formed in Israel.
