the current treasurer and

Her husband served as
JNF President in the 1950s
and her son followed in his
father's footsteps. Mrs.

Frenkel Meeting
Slated Monday

The third annual Rose
Frenkel meeting of Ameri-
can Jewish Congress will
take place 1 p.m. Monday in
the Courtyard Garden of
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
This annual meeting in
memory of Rose Frenkel, an
active member of the
American Jewish Congress,
is sponsored by the Rose
Frenkel Memorial Fund
which was established by
her daughter, Sheila
Ellmann, in tribute to her
mother.
The executive director of
the World Organization of
Jews from Arab Countries,
Aviva Mutchnik, will be the
guest speaker. She will
speak on "The Refugee
Problem in the Middle
East." She will deal with the
cultural and sociological
problems faced by the
Jewish refugees in Israel.
An Israeli, Mrs. Mutch-
nik was born in Iraq and
came to Israel as a child.
She lived in a refugee camp
in Israel for 10 years and
has had first-hand experi-
ence in what it means to
adapt to a strange land.
Mrs. Mutchnik, a political
scientist, is a specialist on
the West Bank Palestinians
and has written on this sub-
ject.
Friends are welcome. Re-
freshments will be served.
