Friday, May 19, 1918 5 THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Charles, Florence Milan JNF Honorees June 21 Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Florence) Milan, leaders in activities on behalf of Israel, will be the honorees at the 1978 Jewish National Fund Dinner, June 21 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek, it was an- nounced by Mark E. Schlus- sel, president of the Greater Detroit JNF Council. The dinner also will celebrate Israel's 30th anniversary of independence and the 60th anniversary of the founding of JNF in the Detroit area. Milan was president of Greater Detroit JNF for three years, 1972-75. The Milans dedicated the "Charles and Florence Milan Forest" purchased through JNF and located at the foot of the Golan Heights near Kiryat Shmona in 1975. The Milans have been active in the Allied Jewish Campaign for many years and Milan served as associ- ate chairman of the Food Division. They have been leaders in the Israel Bond Drive since its inception in 1951. Milan served as vice chairman of the Detroit Is- rael Bond Campaign and Mrs. Milan was the first Is- rael Bond Woman of Valor in Michigan and Israel Bond Women's Division chairman.
