JERUSALEM (JTA) — A
civil defense guard who kil-
led an Arab resident of East
Jerusalem last month will
be tried by a military court.
The guard shot the Arab
near the Rockefeller
Museum in East Jerusalem,
only a few hours after a
soldier was shot by-uniden-
tified Arabs at the same
place. The guard claimed
self-defense in his interro-
gation.
Early
Deadline
The Jewish News will
have an early deadline
of noon Friday, May 26,
for local publicity to

ceived late will be with-

better !
Economy is on every
homemaker's mind these
days. Shortribs cooked over
a low flame for several
hours makes an inexpen-
sive, flavorful dish.
214-3 lbs. of lean beef shortribs
1 tbsp. seasoned salt
14 tsp. pepper
2 tbsps. oil
3 4 cup water
2 /4 cup dry red wine
1 medium chopped onion
1 stalk celery, sliced
2 carrots, sliced
Cut shortribs Into serving
size pieces. Rub with a mixture
of seasoned salt and pepper.
Heat oil In Dutch oven and
saute onions and celery until
golden. Add meat and brown it
on all sides. Add all other In-
gredients, cover pot and sim-
mer for three hours or until
tender. Check to make sure
there is enough liquid, adding
a few tablespoons additional
water If necessary. Also gravy
can be thickened with flour.
Serves 4 to 6 people.
Countless opportunities present themselves when a kind re-
membrance will do much to create or maintain goodwill that is
so essential to business.
An occasion for congratulations, a moment for well wishes, a
time for sympathy ... these are a few of the situations requiring
thoughtfulness on your part.
The next time you wish to convey a timely expression for a
favorable impression ... remember, a gift basket will ... say it
better!
