The First Amendment of
the U.S. Constitution reads:
"Congress shall make no
law respecting an estab-
lishment of religion, or pro-
hibiting the free exercise
thereof; or abridging the
freedom of speech, or of the
press, or of the right of the
people 'peaceably' to assem-
ble, and to petition the Gov-
ernment for a redress of
grievances."
By no stretch of imagina-
tion can a parade of uni-
formed Nazis shouting Nazi
slogans, inciting the mur-
der of fellow citizens, be
construed a peaceable as-
sembly. It is clearly a crimi-
nal act and is to be so prose-
cuted.
It is immaterial if such
threats are in fact carried
out, if these threats are cre-
dible either by circum-
stance or historic prece-
dence. If someone credibly
threatens another's life or
well-being, a criminal act is
committed.
