Another 'Holocaust' Reaction —Sensitive Views of the Actors

By ROBERT ST. JOHN

(Editor's note: Jewish
members of the cast who
appeared in the televised
"Holocaust" program
were interviewed by the
eminent author and lec-
turer, Robert St. John,
after a preview of the
film, in New York, prior
to the public pre-
sentations. The portion of
the St. John article ex-
pressing the views of the
members of the par-
ticipating cast follows:)

WASHINGTON — At a
luncheon and dinner we had
a chance to talk with these
10 people who for 16 weeks
in Austria and West Ger-

drama. Oddly, only two are
Jews, although a third in-
sisted, incorrectly, that she
was.
Our favorite was Jeremy
Levy, age 12, who played
the role of Aaron, the
youngest Jewish fighter in
the Warsaw Ghetto Upris
ing. He was born in New
York and had never been
out the country until he
went with the others to Vie-
nna. He described his fam-
ily as "religious but not Or-
thodox." Then quickly he
added: "I'm going to be Bar
Mitzva in two months and
then I think I'll go to Israel
for a while."
The other Jew is Tovah
Feldshuh, who starred as
Helena Slomova, the Czech
fighter who provided most
of the film's romantic inter-
est; a New Yorker who re-
cently married a member of
a prominent Washington
Jewish family. She already
has the professional actress'
