In 1928, Dr. Silverman
received his Bachelor of Sci-
ence degree at the Univer-
sity of Michigan. He has
practiced medicine and
surgery since 1931 in the
Detroit area.
Dr. Silverman is the old-
est practicing physician at
Mount Carmel Mercy Hos-
pital. He is the last of the
original 12 that opened the
hospital.
Dr. Silverman was a
founder of the Louis
He also was president of
Cong. Bnai David. His other
membership includes a
lifetime certificate in the
Wayne County Medical
Society, the Michigan State
Medical Society, American
Medical Association and the
Internal College of Sur-
geons. He taught at Mercy
College for 22 years.
He was given the medical
