East, Farmington Hills, honoring Ambassador Yosef Tekoah on behalf of the Ambas- sador's Society of Trustees (AST) of State of Israel Bonds. The event, to be held 8 p.m. Thursday, is geared toward increased member- ship in AST, an honor society of those aiding Is- rael's economic develop- ment through purchases of Israel Bonds in amounts of $10,000 and above. YOSEF TEKOAH Tekoah assumed the presidency of the Ben- Gurion University of the Negev following his service as Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Mr. Tekoah served as Israel's chief spokesman at the UN from 1968 to 1975. Shenkman, the host, is a former president of Beth Aaron Synagogue and is a - member of the Ambassador's Society of Trustees. Mrs. Shenkman is a past president of the Michigan Branch of Women's League for Conservative Judaism and currently serves on the board of the National Women's League.
