Park. Miss Vaturi is a stu-
dent at the Beth Jacob
Schools in Toronto, major-
ing in Hebrew school educa-
tion. Her fiance is studying
for the rabbinate at Yeshiva
Gedola of Montreal, Merkaz
Hatorah. A June wedding is
planned.

Stoorman of Birmingham

Stoorman, to Donald

Irving Levitt of Bloomfield
Hills. Miss Levitt was

major in art history. Her
fiance was graduated from
Kalamazoo College and
earned a master's degree in
"-psychology from Duquesne
University in Pittsburgh,

Chicago Jewish Educator to Address Federation Women

educator from Chicago, will
be the featured speaker at
the annual Spring Forum of
the Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Women's Division,
scheduled for April 13 at the
main Jewish Community
Center.

A consultant in the field
of Jewish adult education,
she is currently teaching
eight adult classes and
courses at the Jewish High
School in Chicago.

Ms. Schuman is well-
known as the developer of
an innovative adult Jewish
study curriculum which
won the Solomon Schechter
Award.

Judith Finkelstein and
Clifford Kashtan were mar-
ried recently in the Bir-
mingham home of the
bride's parents. Rabbi
Harold Loss and Cantor
Harold Orbach, both of
Temple Israel, officiated.
The bride is the daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Lionel Fin-
kelstein. Parents of the
bridegroom are Mrs. Doris
Kashtan of Detroit and the
late Dr. Harry Kashtan.
The new Mrs. Kashtan
and her husband are seniors
at the Wayne State Univer-
sity School of Medicine.
The couple is residing in
Detroit.

Emory Approves
Jewish Major

ATLANTA (JTA) —
Emory University has ap-
proved a major in Jewish
studies. A Cohen Chair of
Judaic Studies was inaugu-
rated last year, and a
Judaica library fund was
created.

Mrs. Suzie Walters of
Southfield will host a lunc-
heon on behalf of Israel
Bonds in her home, noon
April 18.
Mrs. Walters, a past pres-
ident of the Organization
for Rehabilitation through
Training's South w oods
Chapter and Michigan Reg-
ion, is a member of ORT's
national board.
She and her husband,
Fred, are active supporters
of the Israel Bond program
and she has been active in
ORT's efforts for Bonds.
Guest speaker at the
luncheon will be Doreen
Hermelin, a member of
the Israel Bond Women's
National Task Force.
Mrs. Hermelin, along
with her husband, David,
was a participant in the
1978 Israel Bond Prime
Minister's Conference held
in Jerusalem several
months ago and, as part of
the ORT luncheon program,
a tape recording of Prime
Minister Menahem Begin's
remarks at the Conference's
closing dinner will be heard.
