Israel Journalists
End Their Strike

TEL AVIV (JTA1 — Is-
raelis were able to get their
favorite newspapers Tues-
day after a two-day nation-
wide strike. But they still
won't be able to get any
news on radio and television
except for the army radio
station.
The Israel Journalists
Federation and the pub-
lishers organization an-
nounced it had reached an
interim agreement Monday
in which the journalists
would get a 25 percent wage
hike during the next three
months while the two sides
try to work out a final ag-
reement.
The radio and television
journalists, meanwhile, are
government employees and
come under the govern-
ment's wage policy. The
government has authorized
the Defense Ministry to
issue back to work orders to
journalists employed by the
army station to ensure that
there will be at least one
station to supply news to Is-
raeli soldiers in south
Lebanon and along the bor-
ders.

Dayan on Official
Visit to Romania

JERUSALEM 1JTA t —
Foreign Minister Moshe
Dayan made an official visit
to Romania this week.
According to reports from
Bucharest. Dayan held a
three-hour discussion with
President Nicolae
Ceausescu and other
Romanian officials in which
he outlined Israel's Middle
East negotiating position.
The talks were described as
"cordial, friendly, construc-
tive and important" by Is-
raeli diplomats who refused
to give any details.
The Israeli Foreign
Minister also met for90 mi-
nutes with his Romanian
counterpart, Stefan Andrei.
Dayan was given a heavily
guarded sightseeing tour of
Bucharest. He also met with •
Jewish community leaders.
Meanwhile, Dayan's trip
to Romania is viewed as of
more than routine impor-
tance. Romania is the only
Communist bloc country to
maintain diplomatic rela-
tions with Israel.
