Belle Bornkind

Belle L. Bornkind, a
bookkeeper and member of
Cong. Beth Israel, died
March 14 at age 67.
A Flint native, Miss
Bornkind is survived by
three sisters, Bessie Dren-
ning, Hilda Myers of Grand
Rapids and Josephine Adler
of Santa Monica, Calif; and
nieces and nephews.

ticipated in the recent Fes-
tival of Spring, sponsored by
the Flint International In-
stitute.

The women, assisted by
Rabbi Hillel Rudaysky,
prepared a seder table for
display and were on hand to
explain its significance.
Participants included Roz
Kramer, who prepared the
table, and Jo Abramson,
Fay Rotenberg, Rhine Grif-

Eva H. Rabin

Eva H. Rabin, past presi-
dent of Cong. Beth Israel
Sisterhood, died March 10
at age 74.
Born in Russia, Mrs.
Rabin lived 60 years in
Flint. She was a charter
member of Cong. Beth Is-
rael and a member of
Hadassah, Pioneer Women
and Bnai Brith.
She is survived by her
husband, Jacob; a son, Ed-
win; a daughter, Mrs. Ab
(Alice) Rabins of "Franklin;
four brothers, Bernard Ris-
kin, Abraham Riskin, Sid-
ney Riskin and Hy Riskin; a
sister, Mrs. Jack (Gertrude)
Wapner; and five grand-
children.

Israel Asks:
Buy Oranges

NEW YORK — The Gov -
ernment of Israel Trade
Center has asked U.S. con-
sumers to buy Jaffa oranges
to help Israel's economy.
Following the recent in-
jections of mercury into
oranges in Europe by Pales-
tinian terrorists, the U.S.
checked all oranges arriv-
ing here and found no tam-
pering.
