synagogue. There will be

ments. Everyone is invited.
The USY will send dele-
gates to the regional con-
vention March 24-26 in
Columbus, Ohio. They are
Scott Littky, chapter presi-
dent; Jeff Goodman, reg-
ional corresponding secret-
ary; and delegates, Ron
Lederman, Terry Schwartz,
Lisa Goldstein and Carolyn
Sklarchyk. Alternates are
Stuart Sandweiss, Cheryl
Fink and Howard Smith.
They will be accompanied
by Karen Knoppow, USY
adviser.
Tent and Tefilin Club
and Bat Mitzva Belles
conduct services 9 a.m.
Sundays in the daily
chapel, under the direc-
tion of Cantor Samuel
Greenbaum and Ms.
Knoppow. Breakfast is
served by the men's club
following services. Stu-
dents in grades seven-
nine are invited.
The synagogue youth
groups will celebrate Purim
with a masquerade prom-
enade 7 p.m. Wednesday in
the sanctuary. The Megillat
Esther will be read.

The Machor group (age

gather for the reading of the
Megillat Esther 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday. Children age
4-14 will join their respec-
tive age groups and march
together to join the main
congregation. A Purim
party for all participants
will follow, with prizes
awarded for costumes. Re-
freshments will be supplied
by the synagogue sister-
hood.
A family Purim carnival
will take place 11:30 a.m.
Sunday at the synagogue.
Games, prizes, crafts and
cartoon shows for children
of all ages will be on the
agenda. A costume judging
contest also will take place.
Refreshments will be avail-
able.

Youth group members

Must will masquerade as
clowns at the carnival. Spe-
cial booths also will be spon-
sored by the staff of the Bnai
David Gruskin Library and
members of the Talit and
Tefilin Club.

synagogue. Wendy

children in constructing
Purim puppets and craft
projects. Refreshments

Bowling is canceled this
week only. The members
will help to set up the club's
booth at the Purim carnival.

Shabat junior congrega-
tion groups for young
people, age 8-14, will dis-
cuss the holiday of Purim at
10 a.m. youth services
Saturday.
A quiz game will be
played, and special holiday
treats will be added to the
regular kidush. Story Hour
(ages 4-7) also will hear
Purim stories at its 10 a.m.
meeting Saturday.
Junior congregation
members who attend
weekly Shabat services will
receive attendance awards
March 25. A luncheon in
their honor will follow. All
young people are invited.

Detroiter Alex Schreiber
Gets Accolades on Coast

Former Detroiter Alex
Schreiber, who was highly
active in Detroit's Jewish
community, has been re-
ceiving accolades for his
civic and philanthropic
work in Beverly Hills, Calif.
Schrieber has donated a
Torah, menora, eternal
light, prayer books,
draperies, chairs and other
furnishings for the chapel at
the Cedars-Sinai Medical

Center.
In addition, he has con-
tributed special equipment
to help crippled children

The Oakland County
Chapter, Michigan Associa-
tion for Emotionally Dis-
turbed Children, will hold a
program 7:30 p.m. Tuesday
in the Huntington Woods
