Bloomfield as their "Women
of the Year" at their Israel
Bond Tribute Luncheon, ac-
cording to Betty Rath, pres-
ident, Pioneer Women Gre-
ater Detroit Council.
Mrs. Kramer will be the
recipient of a special 30th

The honoree has served as
president of Dimona Chap-
ter three times and has held
numerous offices, both in
her chapter and council. She
is presently vice president
of education for the Greater
Detroit Council.
A native of Chicago,
Mrs. Kramer worked in
various social agencies
and married Richard
Kramer, who was then

Director of the Council of
Jewish Federations and
Welfare Funds. Mrs.
Kramer's position at that

fare Federation and in the
Pioneer Women's efforts in
support of Israel Bonds.

Cabaret Kick Off

The Sephardic Commun-
ity of Greater Detroit will
hold _a kick off for its annual
Mediterranean Cabaret
Night 8 p.m. Sunday at the
Zionist Cultural Center.
The program will include
Ladino folk music, folklore
and a history of the Spanish
Jews. The public is invited,
and refreshments will be

Milliken has asked Wil-
bur Cohen, dean of educa-
tion at the University of
Michigan, to head a panel
investigating abuse of pa-
tients at state-funded and
state-licensed mental
health facilities.
Cohen is former secretary
of Health, Education and
Welfare.

MRS. RUBIN

Vicki Levin and Dr.
Myron Rubin were married
recently at the Raleigh
House.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard
Levin of Southfield. Parents
of the bridegroom are Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Rubin, also
of Southfield.
The new Mrs. Rubin
earned a BS degree at
Wayne State University.
Her fiance earned BS and
dental degrees from the
University of Michigan and
its dental school.
The couple honeymooned
in Hawaii.

Footwear Body
Names Detroiter

Pauline Hack, the 93-
year-old widow of Nathan
Hack, pioneer prescription
shoe retailer, was elected
honorary chairman the
Prescription Footwear As-
sociation Memorial Found-
ation at its annual meeting
in Dallas last month.
Mrs. Hack's selection was
based on the numerous con-
tributions to the field by her
husband who was her co-
founder of the Hack Shoe
Co. in 1916.
Among his numerous in-
ventions were the "Ripple"
sole, the Hack Convalescent
Boot and the Hack Clubfoot
Shoe. He served as presi-
dent of the Detroit Shoe Re-
tailers Association and on
his retirement in 1946, was
elected honorary life presi-
dent of the Michigan Shoe
Retailers Association.
