'78 Allied Jewish Campaign's
Phonogift Will Begin Sunday

Briefings were held every
day this week for the 600
volunteers who will partici-
pate in Phonogift, the an-
nual telephone solicitation
effort of the Allied Jewish
Campaign-Israel Emergen-
cy Fund Women's Division.
The eight-day drive be-
gins Sunday in LaMed Au-
ditorium of United Hebrew
Schools. More than 8,000
area women will be con-
tacted and asked to contri-
bute to the Campaign.
The briefings, to train
volunteers in solicitation
techniques, were held in the
homes of "day chairmen",
each of whom will be re-
sponsible for a specific time
slot during the Phonogift ef-
fort.
Baylee Franklin is
chairman of this year's

chairman, and Harriet
Dunsky is adviser. Day
directors are Dorene
Finer and Valerie In-
denbatun.
Directing the clerical
staff, which will prepare bil-
lings on the spot, are Har-
