Dinner honoree Karp has
been a Detroit area resident
for 19 years. Born in Hun-
gary, he survived a Nazi
concentration camp, im-
migrated to Canada in 1950
and moved to Detroit in
1959, the year he married
his wife, the former Gav-
riella Lugosi.

Karp, a long-time
member of Einstein
Lodge, is a supporter of
the Israel Bond cam-
paign and has served on
several Einstein-Israel
Bond Tribute_ Commit-
tees.

Akiva Hebrew Day School
The Karps' son, Gary, a stu-
dent at the University of
Michigan, graduated from
Akiva and younger son
David is a student there.
The family are members
of Cong. Bnai Moshe.

cooperation with the Jewish
National Fund.
Each current president of
the 24 lodges and 25 chap-
ters and units of Metropoli-
tan Detroit Bnai Brith will
be honored by the planting
of Chai (life-18) trees 'in
the Martyr's Forest in rec-
ognition of their efforts.
Tree and tribute chairmen
will be honored with cita-
tions. There are nearly
12,000 members in Met-
ropolitan Detroit Bnai
Brith.

Mrs. Moss is a native De-
troiter, a graduate of Wayne

pendence. The goal of this
year's event is to complete
'Detroit Bnai Brith's fifth
forest. -
