Israel in the - 30th anniver-
sary year of Israel's inde-
pdridence.
"We who have studied our
heritage and feel strong
links to the past know that
Jews can only live in dignity
if we stand together," she
said. "What better way to
show our unity with Israel's
people than by turning out
in such huge numbers at
this nationwide conference
in our nation's capital."
Stanley D. Frankel, a
leader in the local Cam-
paign and associate
chairman for special pro-
jects of the Young Lead-
ership Cabinet, said the
conference was called to
"express our concern
and our commitment to
Jewish and American
values that must deter-
mine the future develop-
ment of human rights and
peace in the world."
The conference featured
panel discussions and in-
formational sessions with
officials of the Carter Ad-
ministration, the Israel
government, U.S. govern-
